The Inside Story
Our clients, two operating partners separated by a couple of decades, were at very different points in their lives. One wanted to retire, while the other still had plenty of runway.
To meet both objectives, we negotiated a deal with a financial buyer that would allow both owners to take their chips off the table, while retaining a financial interest in the future success of the business. A clear transition plan was put in place with the soon-to-be retiree, while the other partner could continue to operate the business alongside a supportive hands off investor.
The result: a balanced transaction that aligned risk and reward for both sides, and achieved each partner’s personal and financial goals.
